Back in late February, Joseph and I recorded our first podcast together, The PlaceboCast. Eager to take over the world, we did what any aspiring talking heads did: we submitted the podcast to the iTunes Store.
That day was February 23.
Then, we waited and waited. Soon, we started joking about it during the podcast, casually poking fun at Apple’s slow pace when it comes to approving content into their walled garden of of digital goods.
This evening, as I was searching through my inbox for a past iTunes receipt, a subject line had caught my eye: “iTunes Store Podcast Approved Notification.”
Not believing my eyes, I clicked through and sure enough there was that beautiful, long overdue but somehow overlooked automated approval message from the fine folks at 1 Infinite Loop. The podcast had been approved two days after it was submitted!
Enough talk! Here’s the iTunes link that you can visit to subscribe to the PlaceboCast.
Alas, the podcast is now on iTunes. Apple has their own dedicated Podcasts app although it has a ton of negative reviews (2 stars as of writing). Because of that, I mostly gave the app a cursory look. Instead, I have found my favorite podcasting app in Instacast. The app has been around for quite some time; it’s already in its third major version. Also, they released the beta version of their first Mac version of Instacast today.
So, there you have it! Go launch iTunes for the first time since 11.0 came out and search for “LonePlacebo” or “PlaceboCast” in the iTunes Store. If you can’t find it, here’s the direct link again. Feel free to leave a rating and review. We’d really appreciate it!
Thanks for listening (and reading)!
