You thought Google’s self-driving cars was cool? Wait until you see what else they’ve been working on.

Google announced today Project Glass, augmented reality glasses that “helps you explore and share your world, putting you back in the moment.”

In the demo video posted above, we follow a day in the life of a protagonist wearing the glasses. As he goes about his daily routine, the glasses provide real time information when needed; weather forecasts, transit schedules, directions to any destination. Of course, there’s also social aspect integrated, allowing him to share photos, video chat, and check-in at locations.

This is some down-right futuristic stuff here from Google. Lest I forget, it should be noted that this video is merely a mockup of what the device might be capable of one day doing.

So, which would you rather have first? Self-driving cars or augmented reality glasses?
