Steve Mahan recently took a routine drive out to pickup some dry cleaning and some Taco Bell in his hometown of Morgan Hill, California. Oh, I forgot to mention. Steve also happens to be 95% blind.

I was thrilled when Google announced back in March that Sprint customers(that’s me!) could now use their existing Sprint mobile number as their Google Voice number. Up to that point, I had relied on Google Voice for free text messaging, but it was a hassle to tell people to text me at a different number.

Google plans on manufacturing its self-driving cars, one of the ideas being worked on at Google X
When a fledgling search engine startup rapidly grows into a multi-billion dollar corporation and the envy of every tech company in the world, how does it stay innovative? According to a PC Magazine article yesterday, Google’s social-networking extravaganza Google+ could reach 20 million users by the end of this week. Ancestry.com founder Paul Allen (not of Microsoft fame), used data from the US Census with the surnames of Google+ users.

With the proliferation of smart phones, consumers have access to the Internet at their fingertips, wherever they go. Looking to catch a good movie later tonight? Forget about buying a newspaper and reading critic reviews. Instead, many people use their iPhones and Androids to read consumer reviews on Fandango and Rotten Tomato. With an abundance of information at our disposal, have we stopped relying on the good word of our friends and family?

By now, you are probably sick and tired of all the news about Google+, especially if you weren’t lucky enough to receive an invite before they were temporarily closed off on Wednesday. Luckily, thanks to @prithi, I was able to obtain an invite. So far, Google+ is definitely a step ahead of its predecessors like Buzz and Wave. Will Google+ eventually dominate the social networking sphere and turn Facebook into Myspace? That’s for another post, but for now, let’s take a look at some of the things you should know about when you first start using Google+.
