No wonder these guys are worth $1 billion

It is every entrepreneur’s dream: start a company, grow to millions of users, sell your company to Facebook for $1 billion.

As you may know by now, that Cinderella story belongs to Instagram, the photo sharing app used by over 30 million people. Say what you want about the company not having a business model, zero revenue, etc. The reality is that internet companies are not defined solely by how much money they’ve made so much as they are by their user base.

Suing Apple

Amid the constant back-and-forth “You sue me, I sue you” warfare being waged between Apple and Samsung, there are other more bizarre lawsuits being filed against Apple.

Beware of the of the glass walls

According to CNet, an 83-year old woman by the name of Evelyn Paswall is suing Apple for $1 million after she inadvertently walked directly into a glass wall at the Manhasset, Long Island Apple Store and broke her nose. The suit claims that “Apple wants to be cool and modern and have the type of architecture that would appeal to the tech crowd, but on the other hand, they have to appreciate the danger that this high-tech modern architecture poses to some people.”

Do I detect a signal for abandon ship?

The OpenStreetMap Foundation, a non-profit foundation who aims to support and enable the development of free-to-use geographical and spatial data as well being connected to the collaborative project OpenStreetMap,  today confirmed that the newest iteration of the iPhoto app for iOS – which Apple unveiled yesterday at their special event – is using OpenStreetMap location data for its photo geo-location feature instead of Google Maps.
