AT&T users, brace yourselves! Speed is coming!
Good news for AT&T Wireless users. According to an article by FierceWireless, AT&T is poised to deploy its next-generation wireless broadband network on September 18 this year. The date has been declared by AT&T CFO John Stephens as the official date for the large-scale deployment of its LTE network.
AT&T began it’s 4G data trial in five select cities (Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta and San Antonio) back in the summer of 2011 with the promise of large-scale deployment sometime later this year. With the set date on September 18, AT&T Wireless users can now get their bodies ready for the “promised” speeds of up to 28 Mbps downstream.
The question is, will the massive speed increase over existing 3G data speed be worth it due to the existing bandwidth caps AT&T already has?
