Be Free, My iPhones! AT&T Set to Unlock Specific iPhones

att

To all of those who spent the timeless years with AT&T, you have a way out.

As of yesterday, April 8th, if you have an iPhone with a cellular contract with AT&T, you can unlock the phone.

“Huzzah!”, said the millions of AT&T iPhone users.

Ahem.

There are certain conditions however, according to the LA Times:

You have to be eligible, with an account that is current (no outstanding fees). That also means you have to either have a contract that has ended, have upgraded the handset or have paid an early termination fee.

If you fit this strict criteria, you are more than welcome to unlock your iPhone by talking to an AT&T representative or dialing 611 on your phone.

Connect you phone to iTunes, backup and restore and then BAM.

Unlocked iPhone.

What’s the catch? As far as we know it, there is no catch as long as you fit the above criteria.

Let the Ebay iPhone flooding commence!
